Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt pontiff Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, 82, who passed away on Wednesday due to breathing problems, has good religious bond with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in Hindu Dharma protection movement.

Tirupati: Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt pontiff Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, 82, who passed away on Wednesday due to breathing problems, has good religious bond with Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in Hindu Dharma protection movement.

TTD Executive Officer Anilkumar Singhal expressed his condolence over the sudden demise of Jayendra Saraswathi on Wednesday. All the TTD higher officials have remembered the pontiff and his association with TTD priests and officials.

It may be noted that on the suggestion of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, the TTD had conducted Kariristi yagam and Varuna Japam since 1994. In 2017, Kariristi yagam was performed under the supervision of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi.

Similarly, following the advice of swamiji, for providing better services to devotees of Srivaru, the TTD launched Srivari Seva volunteers wing. The swamiji also presented a 2,060-diamond studded crown worth Rs 1.5 crore to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy on October 1, 2004.

The pontiff also gave many suggestions to strengthen the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad to protect the traditions and culture of Hindu dharma.
