Visakhapatnam: A three-day mega job drive organised by the Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA), Government of Andhra Pradesh, was started here on Thursday. The drive will conclude on March 17.
As many as 37 companies from across the country and within the state are participating. IT/ITES sectoral drive is scheduled in collaboration with Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITAAP) apart from general hiring sectors at GITAM University on Thursday and planned general hiring across sectors is scheduled at Gayatri Vidya Parishad, Madhurawada, on Friday and on March 17 is a day of hiring for start-ups in collaboration with Yourstory.com at Gayatri Vidya Parishad, Kommadi campus.
On the same day hiring in emerging technologies in financial sectors (blackchain) is happening at the same venue where pursuing batch (2018) who participated in any hackathon collaborative computer programming competition by any organisation, is eligible to participate. The APITA successfully conducted hackathons all over the state with massive participation from the students who developed new computer programmes in a short duration to solve actual business problems.
The state government through its multiple organisations is emphasising on emerging and disruptive technologies such as blackchain which is changing the way business is being conducted specially in financial sectors, necessitating new skill sets. By organising hackathons and drive for emerging technologies (blockchain), APITA is fulfilling the cycle of encouraging new skill sets and giving platform to job seekers to explore career options in these new technologies.
By organising start-up drive on 17th March, not only the entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged, it gives budding start-ups a platform to get their employees at a single place, building wholesome eco-system for the start-ups and the job seekers. Companies like Policybazaar, Paytm, Concentrix, VSoft, GMR Group, Heritage Foods, Peram Group, Miracle, Amzur, Pixentia, Inspiredge and Matrimony are participating in this job fair, to name a few.
Job roles in Vizag, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bangalore and across Andhra Pradesh is available in the event for every qualification and education level, which would see participation from a good mix of both national, multi-national and local companies along with the start-ups in the start-up drive.
