Kadapa: A girl student, one of the toppers in Intermediate, consumed Super Vasmol hair dye poison in protest against his father who joined her in Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) coaching at Khajipet Model School. However she was out of danger as she was immediately rushed to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical sciences (RIMS) in Kadapa.

The victim was identified as A Prasanthi (17) Togarcheruvu village of Panyam mandal in Kurnool district. According to sources, the victim has studied Intermediate MPC group in government model school at Sugali Thanda in Kurnool district and scored more than 85 per cent in Mathematics in first year. As per the recent guidelines, state government facilitated free coaching for EAMCET to the Schedule caste girl students who scored more than 80 percent marks in MPC , BPC, groups.

In this connection Prasanthi’s father Nagaraju joined her in government model school at Khajipet which meant to give free coaching for EAMCET for students from five districts Kadapa, Kurnool, Anantapur, Chittoor Nellore districts.

Model school principal M Nagaraju told Hans India the girl joined the coaching on 20th March. As she was not interested in joining for coaching, brought the Super Vasmol in bottle and threatened her father she would consume it if he failed to take her back to home.

As her father did not listen to her requests, she consumed poison at her hostel room at around 6.00 am on Thursday. She got mobile phone from warden and informed the matter to her father.

She was immediately rushed to the Area Hospital at Khajipet where she was provided first aid. Later, she was shifted to RIMs where her condition stated to be stable.
