Madakasira (Anantapur): Former minister of state for Defence M Pallam Raju expressed confidence that the Congress Party government in Karnataka would romp home in the current on-going electoral battle.

Former Union minister Pallam Raju and Rajya Sabha MP K V P Ramachander Rao and other AP state Congress leaders are in Karnataka campaigning for Congress victory.

Pallam Raju and PCC chief Raghuveera Reddy addressed a press conference at Madakasira, the border town of Karnataka here on Tuesday. Raju said that the Congress performance was good. Farmers were happy at the loan waiver scheme implemented by the government. Besides a host of welfare schemes implemented will bring back the party to power for another term.

The former Defence minister said that women should be careful with BJP MLAs who have a track record of raping women. They should confine to their homes in places where BJP MLAs are in place, he cautioned. He opined that the Tumukur district in Karnataka will elect a minimum 8 out of 11 Congress candidates who are in fray. The Congress will get a landslide victory in the Assembly elections, he hoped.

AICC secretary Jaya Kumar maintained that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's image has nosedived to the lowest ebb after demonetisation and introduction of GST. He accused the Prime Minister of acting like a dictator. Jaya Kumar described BJP as a rapist party and a party of anti-social elements.

PCC chief N Raghuveera Reddy predicted that the ruling Congress party in Karnataka will not only increase its vote percentage but also increase its tally of seats this time. The Congress gave a stable government and it will bounce back to power once again in Karnataka, he said.

He called upon the 1 crore Telugu people in the state to vote for Congress and strengthen it so that it can come back to power at the Centre and give special category status to AP state.
