Vijayawada: Senior YSRCP leader and MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said the State plunged into debts as the loans mounted to Rs 2.26 lakh crore in Telugu Desam Party rule during the last four years.

He pointed out that the loans were increasing without even the construction activity of the state capital Amaravati commencing. Addressing a media conference at the State party office here on Sunday, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said the people would teach a lesson to the Telugu Desam Party for cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh on the Special Category Status (SCS).

He said 92 per cent farmers in the State were suffering due to mounting loans as there was lack of support price for their produce. Referring to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Praja Sankalpa Yatra, he said the overwhelming response from people to the Yatra reflects the failure of the Telugu Desam government.

He said Jaganmohan Reddy had assured the people of Krishna district that he would construct the Machilipatnam Port in 4,800 acres after coming to power and announced to increase the ex gratia to the kin of the fishermen who die during natural calamities. The YSRCP leader said the people’s response was causing nervousness to Chandrababu Naidu and other TDP leaders.

Peddireddy made it clear that the YSRCP would not have any poll alliance with the BJP and the party would contest the 2019 elections independently. Former minister K Parthasarathy said the YSRCP would fulfil all assurances given by the party president to the people of Krishna district after voted to power.
