Inaugurating Aryapuram Co-operative Urban Bank centenary building along with Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa and ministers Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, Adinarayana Reddy and K S Jawahar here on Saturday, Krishna Murthy said the co-operative institutes should put their endeavour for the welfare of farmers and for rural development also.

Aryapuram Co-operative Urban Bank is a glaring example for how co-operative sector is working in the state, he said and complimented bank chairman, directors and staff for running the bank in profits and for mobilising Rs 956 crore deposits. Deputy Chief Minister N Chinarajappa congratulated the bank management for running the bank efficiently without giving any room for suspicion.

Minister for Roads and Buildings Ch Ayyanna Patrudu advised the depositors in bank to elect efficient and honest persons as bank management representatives. Bank chairman Challa Shankar Rao said plans are afoot to reach the target of Rs 1,000 crore deposits shortly.

The centenary building was constructed at a cost of R 4 crore to cater future needs. The bank management has decided to invite Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for its centenary celebrations scheduled to be held shortly.

MP Maganti Murali Mohan, MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudary, Mayor PRS Sai, GUDA Chairman Ganni Krishna, Sub-collector C M Saikanth Varma, bank vice-chairman Ayyapla Gopi, CEO G S Sudhakar Rao and other staff were present.
