Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person at the Mandal Tahsildar’s office in T Narsapuram village of West Godavari on Monday.According to ACB officials, Kuram Bujji of Sunnapurallapalli village of Teegalvanca Narsapuram mandal had a land of 2.20 cents in the village.
Eluru: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a Village Revenue Officer (VRO) while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person at the Mandal Tahsildar’s office in T Narsapuram village of West Godavari on Monday.According to ACB officials, Kuram Bujji of Sunnapurallapalli village of Teegalvanca Narsapuram mandal had a land of 2.20 cents in the village.
He wants to change the pattadar passbook in his son Pothuraju’s name. He applied for name change with VRO of Bandivarigudem village. When Kuram Pothuraju, son of Bujji met VRO M Pravallika, she had demanded Rs 30,000 to change the name in pattadar passbook. After bargaining she agreed for Rs 10,000.
Vested with the attitude of VRO for three months, Pothuraju with the help of his relative Srinivasa Rao lodged a complaint against VRO with ACB in Eluru. Acting on the tip-off, the ACB sleuths laid a trap and caught the official while accepting bribe at her office. The accused will be produced in ACB court in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
