Devinagar canal bund Residents allotted Plots: VMC Commissioner

Vijayawada: VMC Commissioner J Nivas said that as many as 231 residents of Devinagar canal bunds in 53rd division were allotted house plots at Ajit Singh Nagar on Thursday.

The Commissioner interacted with the residents of Devinagar and said that as part of the canal bunds beautification programme, the families residing on the bunds were relocated to Ajit Singh Nagar and allotted G-3 housing plots.

He said that physically challenged would be given preference and ground floor houses would be allotted to them. All infrastructure facilities would be provided to the families and houses would be allotted to the beneficiaries, he said.

He informed that out of 251 beneficiaries, the government sanctioned subsidy for 231 families and for the rest of the families, subsidy would be sanctioned shortly.

Deputy mayor G Venkataramana Rao said that families residing on canal bunds were facing various problems and all the beneficiaries would be allotted flats.

Superintending engineer JV Ramakrishna, housing engineer B Mohan Rao and others were present.
