Transport Department reduces Penalty on Services
Transport department has reduced penalty on the services to be rendered after expiry of vehicle fitness certificate and issued orders to this effect
Guntur: Transport department has reduced penalty on the services to be rendered after expiry of vehicle fitness certificate and issued orders to this effect.
Following representations given by the people's representatives, the government took this decision. It may be mentioned that earlier, the department had collected Rs 50 per day towards penalty for issuing fitness certificate after expiry of date.
Taking vehicle owners’ request into consideration, the government reduced penalty to Rs 10 per day from Rs 50. At present, maximum penalty is Rs 10 per day.
The government also reduced penalty for issuing driving license after its expiry. Earlier, the penalty is Rs 500. It is reduced to Rs100.
Deputy Transport Commissioner GC Rajaratnam requested the concerned to avail services of department without paying penalty and added that if they avail services on time, they need not pay any penalty.
