Guntur: GMC Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar directed the officials to give new tap connections under AMRUT scheme.
He addressed a meeting held at the GMC on Wednesday. Speaking on this occasion, he instructed the officials to give tap connections for those who have no tap connections.
He expressed dissatisfaction over performance of officials under this scheme and instructed them to give 727 tap connections under this scheme.
He asked the officials to give tap connections for those who applied for new tap in the tap mela. He also instructed them to give tap connections list to the contractor to provide new tap connections and added that it was responsibility of engineering officials to select beneficiaries under this scheme.
He directed the officials to conduct melas at reservoirs to give new tap connections. He said that dates would be announced soon to conduct melas.
