Officials told to conduct special drive to clear roads of water

The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting on convergence departments under the NREGS at the Secretariat on Monday. The officials of Forest, Horticulture, Fisheries, Sericulture, Housing, School Education, Animal Husbandry and SERP explained on the works taken up under NREGS.
The officials of Animal Husbandry department explained on Gokulam scheme. The Chief Minister asked the officials to implement the scheme more efficiently with the coordination of DWCRA groups and see that Gopala Mitra services were implemented in all villages.
The Chief Minister expressed ire over school education officials over delay in the construction of compound walls in the State despite sanction of necessary funds. He asked the officials to submit a report to him within a week on the progress of compound wall works.
Naidu said plantation programme should be taken up in schools. He advised the officials to develop nutrition gardens in school premises for the benefit of students. The sericulture officials informed that they developed mulberry culture in 3,801 acres. The Chief Minister asked them to develop 5 sericulture clusters in Rayalaseema.
He asked the fisheries officials to take measures to prevent pollution. The Chief Minister expressed happiness when the officials informed that the tribals in Rampachodavaram Agency region have taken up fisheries development in farm ponds. The officials said they were developing 534 fish drying yards in coastal region at a cost of Rs 1.18 cr.
The forest officials informed Chandrababu Naidu that they have taken up 42,874 works at a cost of Rs 27.94 crore. The Chief Minister asked the officials to develop forest cover and avenue plantation. He asked the horticulture officials to set a target to develop horticulture at a stretch of one crore acres by 2029. He asked the housing officials to speed up the works using Rs 440 NREGS funds.
Commissioner of Rural Development Ranjit Basha said cement roads were laid at a stretch of 20,000 km in villages. Panchayat Raj Principal Secretary Jawahar Reddy, Principal Secretary of forest department G Anantaramu, CM’s Secretary AV Rajamouli, Secretary for Finance M Ravichandra, Principal Secretary of Water Resources Sasibushan Kumar, SERP CEO P Krishna Mohan and others were present.
