Vijayawada: The Department of Political Science of Maris Stella College, in collaboration with Tradition and Culture Department, Andhra Pradesh jointly organised “Quit India Diwas” at the college campus on Thursday.
The chief guest of the occasion was Dr Eemani Sivanagi Reddy, CEO of the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati.
Addressing the gathering, Sivanagi Reddy explained about the sacrifices made by our freedom-fighters.
The guests of honour G Narayana Rao of Andhra Art Academy also spoke.
A play troop from Swatanthra Bharati led by Ramesh performed a skit showing various events that took place during Quit India Movement.
Jyothsna, HoD, Political Science Department, Dr B Rajendra Prasad, Geetha Devi, Brijitha Nirmala and the degree students attended the programme.
