Visakhapatnam: Duvvada crime police arrested two persons, who were involved in mobile theft cases, which were registered at various police station limits here on Wednesday, in the city. Addressing the media, DCP AR Damodar said that a special team, which was deployed to nab the mobile thieves, nabbed two persons who were involved in mobile thefts on Tuesday.

According to police, the arrested were identified as M Srinu, a resident of Banjanagar village in Odisha and V Srinu alias Driver Srinu, a native of Jogimpeta village in Golugonda mandal and residing at BC hostel. The duo committed chain snatchings, house breakings and other thefts in the past at various places in the city.

Police nabbed the accused, along with hired Swift bearing No. AP31 BH 5588, while travelling from Tirupati to Berhampur. During the police investigation, the duo disclosed that the names of A Somanadri and SK Sunni of Akiveedu village in Bhimavaram town who purchased the stolen phones from them. Police recovered Rs 3.70 lakhs and 30 android mobile phones from them.
