Nellore: Agriculture Minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said that the state government has been committed for welfare of the Tribal population in the state and hence they had allocated Rs.3,000 crore for their development.

At a programme held at R & B Guest House here on Friday, the Minister distributed cycles and fishnets to 31 Tribal people from Varigonda village of TP Gudur mandal.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, Somireddy said that they had distributed cycles and fishnets on 90 per cent subsidy to the people for their livelihood. State government has been giving top priority in welfare schemes for Tribal people.

He also explained that they had provided Social Security Pensions to all eligible Tribals. Government had increased subsidy part for constructing houses from Rs.1.50 lakh to Rs.2 lakhs and they were providing financial assistance to the Tribal people for marriage occasion.
