Sr badminton championship from tomorrow in Vijayawada
Andhra Pradesh Senior Badminton Championship 2018 Men and Women will be organised at Vijayawada Club, Tadepalli from September 7 to 10, said senior vicepresident of Badminton Association of India and CEO of AP Badminton Association Punnaiah Chowdary here on Wednesday
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Senior Badminton Championship 2018 (Men and Women) will be organised at Vijayawada Club, Tadepalli from September 7 to 10, said senior vice-president of Badminton Association of India and CEO of AP Badminton Association Punnaiah Chowdary here on Wednesday.
The championship will be organised jointly by GoSports Management and AP Badminton Association.
The championships will be inaugurated by Sri Muddada Ravi Chandra, Finance Secretary to Government of AP and Dr P Ankamma Choudary, Chairman, SAAP, E Butchi Babu, President, Vijayawada Club, T Narayana Reddy, Sr vice-president, APBA, Ch Raghu Kiran, General Secretary, APBA would be participating.
Addressing the media, he said that players from all the 13 districts will participate in the championship and each district is eligible to sent two singles and one double with a total of 4 men and 4 women and 2 team officials.
He said that on September 7, qualifying matches will be held in all events, and all semi-finalists in the qualifying matches are eligible to enter the main draw.
Best performers will be selected for the AP team who will participate in the South Zone Inter-state Championship which will be held at Hyderabad from October 4 to 7.
The APBA has nominated 10 qualified umpires to officiate the matches, he added.
GoSports CEO CR Ramesh, Dr E Thrimurthy organising secretary and others were present.
