Guntur: Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the state government was giving top priority to education. He laid the foundation for the construction of Gurukul Schoosl at Rajapet under Chilakaluripet mandal at a cost of Rs 6 crore here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the construction of the school building will be completed within six months. He said that over 21,000 students are studying in residential schools in the state and added that education could bring change in society.
Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the government has allotted Rs 20 crore for the construction of residential school. During the first phase, it released Rs 6 crore, remaining funds will be released in a phased manner.
He said that the state government was implementing welfare schemes to benefit all the families in the state. MLC AS Ramakrishna, Gurukul Schools secretary Nagabhushana Sarma were present.
