Tirupati: To win the Tirupati Assembly seat in the next elections, the ruling party has been offering sops for all the communities in the temple city. On Thursday, Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman G Narasimha Yadav had laid foundation stone for the construction of Balija, BC and SC bhavans here at a cost of Rs 2 crore each.
There are 1.25 lakh voters in Tirupati Assembly constituency, In which, 40,000 voters belong to Balija community. Followed by, 25,000 voters are BCs and 15,000 voters belong to SCs. The present MLA Suguna belongs to Balija community and TUDA chief is from Yadava community. Both Suguna and Narasimha Yadav are aspiring to contest from Tirupati in the next elections.
Narasimha Yadav brought permission from higher officials for the construction of welfare bhavans in temple city. Speaking to media, Narasimha Yadav said that proposals for the construction of welfare bhavans were pending for long time. The state government sanctioned welfare bhavans for all the major communities in Tirupati. A welfare bhavan for Muslim community was constructed near ESI Hospital, he added.
