Visakhapatnam: The DSP of CB-CID submitted a report to the Sessions Court received from the Telangana Forensic Science Laboratory (TSFSL), Hyderabad, which stated that they traced the case property consisting of the clothes of the Vakapalle women victims that were seized that day at the KGH, Visakhapatnam. With this, the Vakapalle gang-rape hearing has taken a new twist on Friday.

It may be recalled that the CB-CID had submitted a letter to the court during the last hearing stating that case property was destroyed. The TSFSL, in last hearing, held on September 17, said that the TSFSL had submitted a report that the case property was destroyed as per the government orders.

Expressing displeasure over the reply with the CB-CID, Special Public Prosecutor Sunkara Rajendra Prasad had filed a petition and sent letters to the Superintendent of Police of Visakhapatnam Rural, DIG of Police, Visakha Range, and also to the Additional SP of CB-CID seeking the production of the case property related to the case.

The Sessions Court, however, did not accept the case property on the ground that the case property as per the Criminal Rules of Practice should be dispatched to the court at Paderu for Committal hearing and the court should send the property to the Sessions Court. The DSP CB-CID has taken the property with them to be submitted in due course. The case is now posted for October 5 for fixing of schedule.

Though the CB-CID in the last hearing claimed that the material evidence was destroyed, the material evidence in the case was produced on Friday. The sudden surface of the material evidence in the case clearly revealed that some people have been trying to subvert the proceedings of the case, said VS Krishna of Human Rights Forum (HRF).
