Vijayawada: The Journalists of West Constituency extended their support to the flood victims of Kerala and handed over a cheque for Rs 1.58 lakh to Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner J Nivas here on Monday.
They said that the recent floods in Kerala wiped off the state, leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless. To extend their support to the people of Kerala, journalist of west constituency had collected contributions from the people.
An amount of Rs 1.58 lakh was handed over in the form of DD to the VMC Commissioner. He responded positively and appreciated the journalists for taking initiative in helping the neighbouring state.
