The infighting in the ruling Telugu Desam Party in Proddatur of YSR district has reached a crescendo. Both the MP CM Ramesh’s group and former MLA Varadarajulu Reddy group are at loggerheads with each other.
Varadarajulu Reddy is determined not to allow CM Ramesh and his family enter into Proddatur politics. He said that he would not let Ramesh dictate politics in Proddatur and charged him with spawning dissidence in the Proddatur municipal corporation by engineering resignations of several councillors. He said there is enough evidence that Ramesh is behind the commotion within the TDP in Proddatur.
It may be recalled that as many as 22 councillors have submitted their resignations to Municipal Commissioner Chandramouleeswara Reddy on Monday. This has led to flexing of muscles by both the factions. Reddy faction has alleged that CM Ramesh was fomenting trouble within the party by triggering dissent.
