Visakhapatnam: Increasing number of chain snatching cases by biker gangs in Pendurthi and Gopalapuram police stations limits in the city have terrified women to the extent that they fear stepping out of their homes.
Two bike borne miscreants snatched a 80 gms gold chain from A Padmavathi alias Manga of Susarla Colony under Airport police station limits on Friday. The incident took place when Padmavathi was on her way to temple. The bike rider was wearing a helmet and the pillion covered his face with a cloth to hide their identity.
In another incident, 55 grams of gold chain was snatched from K Lalitha Kumari reportedly by the same gang near to Baji Junction area under Airport police station limits. Another woman robbed of her 36 grams gold chain at Prahladhapuram area under Gopalapatnam police station limits.
Speaking to The Hans India, ADCP (Crimes) V Suresh Babu said that two more chain snatching incidents were reported at Chinamushiriwada and Sujathanagar areas under Pendurthi police station limits.
