Farmers of Titli cyclone hit Srikakulam district gheraoed Andhra Pradesh Labour minister K Achhannaidu for not paying attention on the plights being faced by them.
Coconut, Cashew and Paddy Crops were completely damaged under the influence of heavy rains and heavy winds in many areas in the north coastal Andhra district.
The minister conducted a tour in Pundi, Old Tekkali, Pollada and Devualtada. He avoided to meet the affected farmers all through his tour.
Angered on the minister's indifference towards addressing their problems, a group of farmers staged a protest at Ponnada and obstructed the minister's convoy from moving forward.
Acchannaidu did not get down the vehicle and drove straight to Bhavannapadu port to ascertain the damage.
Later, the minister visited Nandigama, Penturu, Narendrapuram, Narayanapuram etc villages and interacted with the victims of cyclone.
He assured them of all assistance from government and instructed officials to supply 10 kg of rice to each family as immediate relief.
