Vijayawada: About 150 people participated in the 2K Run organised here on Monday, to mark the 3rd National Ayurveda Day. The run was flagged off by Commissioner for Ayush department, Andhra Pradesh PA Shoba at Food Junction at BRTS road.

It concluded at Madhuranagar foot over bridge. The run was organised by department of Ayush, Andhra Pradesh and National Ayurveda Research Institute for skin disorders, Government of India.

Local private Ayurveda doctors, PG and UG Ayurveda doctors, members of Amaravati Walkers and Runners Association, Guntur, Gayatri Walkers Association and others participated in the run.

Addressing the gathering, Shoba said that the run was organised to create awareness on Ayurveda and to take the system to the reach of common man.
Free check-up and consultation camp was organised at Gayatri Function Hall, Kedareswarapeta.

About 475 patients visited the camp. They were advised on diet and lifestyle, arthritis, spine problem, chronic skin disease, digestive disorders and other issues.

Confederation of Ayurveda and Herbal Drug Industry distributed medicines to the patients free of cost.

NRS Government Ayuvedic College principal KMVD Prasad, National Ayurveda Research Institute for Skin Disorders, Government of India additional director Dr G Babu, PVNR Prasad, associate professor, government ayurveda, Dr Ramesh, Dr Deepa and others were present.
