Vizianagaram: Senior Congress leader C Ramachandraiah alleged that democracy was facing threat from leaders like Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, whom he accused of “killing democracy in broad daylight.” Ramachandraiah, who held several posts in TDP before joining Congress after retiring as party’s Rajya Sabha member, joined the YSRCP on Tuesday in the presence of its president YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Salur constituency.
He said that Naidu had damaged the image of Governor system for his personal gain. “People should drive leaders like Naidu away from politics. Ideology, principles of TDP have been totally erased from its dictionary and Naidu has written new norms and policies for his personal benefit.
Now he is dreaming to lead play a key role in national politics with the help of Congress but it will remain a daydream. Many leaders from Congress are waiting to quit the party and join YSR Congress,” he said.
