SRKR Engg College bags 2 gold medals

Bhimavaram: Two projects of the Mechanical Engineering department of SRKR Engineering College here secured two gold medals in the national-level design competitions organised by the Institution of Engineers India (IEI) under the aegis of National Design Research Forum, according to principal Dr G Partha Sarathy Varma.
The project guide Dr V Durgaprasad said on Monday that ‘Solar-powered walking bike’, designed by the final year mechanical engineering students, bagged the gold medal in the environment section. Students’ team comprising Tumu Kedareswara Aditya, Yadla Ramesh, Yenumala Sivasurya, Palavalasa Srikrishnaveni received the gold medal in the national council.
In the Mechanical engineering division, ‘Solar-powered multipurpose cultivation system’, designed by the team of students comprising Kottada Tarun Kumar, MS Nikhil, KL Prasanna Kumar, I Chaitanya Varma, VLS VIkas and J Ritesh Varma under the guidance mechanical engineer department head Dr Kalidindi Brahma Raju secured the gold medal.
The college correspondent and secretary, Sagi Vithal Ranga Raju and CEO Sagi Ramakrishna Nishant Varma congratulated the students and the faculty for their achievement. They assured that they would extend their cooperation in their future efforts also.
