Badminton tourney inaugurated

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu inaugurated inter-collegiate women ball badminton tournament and university team selection at the campus here on Tuesday.
Later, he said that the university turned into a sports hub and the students were representing in district, state, zone and national-level tournaments and bringing name and fame to the university. The university was a right forum to the students to prove their talent in sports.
The university was encouraging sports and games and also created a Sports Board in this regard. All the affiliated colleges in twin Godavari districts were also directed to produce good sportspersons. Moreover, the girl students were also participating in sports and games on par with boys, he added.
Sports Board coordinator Dr KS Rao said the selected students in inter-collegiate tournaments will represent the university in All India Inter-University Tournaments scheduled to be held in Krishna University.
Sports Board secretary Dr B Ram Gopal, additional coordinator Dr GA Babu, observer Srinivasa Reddy and members were present.
