Dr Swarna Geetha takes Action against errant staff

Nellore: AP Food Safety Commission Member Dr Swarna Geetha warned that they would stake stern action against the staff of hostels, schools, and Anganwadi centres on their negligence in providing quality food to the inmates and also poor maintenance of environs.

She held a meeting with officials at Pinakini Guest House here on Saturday and said that she had visited hostels, Anganwadi centres in the district for the last two days and directed the ICDS Project Director to take action against negligent staff members.

The panel member said hostels and Anganwadi centres have to serve quality and healthy food to the students as per directions of the state government. Dr Swarna Geetha said some dealers had complained that they were receiving below required quantity of stocks.

She said dealers have to go and collect the stock giving no scope for irregularities. Food safety panel member said she found some chicken traders were selling the stored stocks from refrigerators and warned that they would take action against such people.

She asked the food safety officials to book cases against such traders and inform to the people.

There have been extensive efforts from the panel and asked to contact her on 9441916998 for any complaints on such issues. Joint Collector Vetri Selvi and other officials were present.
