Andhra University 85th, 86th convocations to be held on December 19
The Andhra University Academic Senate meeting on Wednesday announced that the varsitys 85th and 86th convocation celebrations will be conducted on December 19
Visakhapatnam: The Andhra University Academic Senate meeting on Wednesday announced that the varsity’s 85th and 86th convocation celebrations will be conducted on December 19. Chairing the senate meeting here, Vice Chancellor Prof G Nageswara Rao said that the convocation celebrations will start from 11 am onwards on December 19.
The senate has welcomed to introduce new courses with psychology, journalism and English literature as main subjects with BA. The senate also accepted to start three-months long certificate courses in Telugu for the benefit of NRI and non-Telugu students.
The senate also decided to stop MA (political science) MA (English) and M Ed courses at Vizianagaram PG centre. After a detailed discussions, the senate also decided to introduce new syllabus in arts, science, engineering and pharmacy streams.
Former VCs including GSN Raju, K V Ramana and L Venugopal Reddy suggested the management to establish an exclusive wing to deal with the MoUs signed by the Andhra University. The senate also decided to take up a survey to protect the varsity lands with the help of drones and radar images. Vice Chancellor Nageswara Rao informed to the members that the survey would be completed in a month.
