The severe cyclonic storm Phethai over west central Bay of Bengal moved further northwards with a speed of 24-kmph and weakened into a cyclonic storm and the lay centered at 90 km south of Kakinada and moving to landfall around Kakinada coast at about 3 pm today on Monday.

The system is likely to slightly weaken further before landfall. The IMD is its latest predictions informed that the wind speed of 70-90 kmph gusting to 100 kmph while the system crossing the coast.
