Vijayawada: Chief Electoral Officer RP Sisodia inaugurated the State-level call centre to address the election-related issues with toll-free number 1950. Addressing the gathering, he said that the call centre would help people to get answers to their doubts.

He said that the call centre which is started with 10 employees would be staffed with 50 as per the exigency. The call centre is equipped with 30 lines to facilitate a large number of people to contact at any given time. The number of lines would be increased as the demand grows, he said.

Keeping in view the experience elsewhere, the Election Commission wish to create a healthy electoral rolls in the State, Sisodia averred.
In addition to the state-level call centre, the district electoral officers were instructed to establish call centres in all the districts, he said and added that he was happy to announce that all the district call centres were functioning from Thursday.

Apart from calling the Call Centre to check voter status, the people can do the same by logging into www.ceoandhra.nic.in or www.nvsp.in. Similarly, they can use SMS facility by typing AP<space>VOTE<space>VOTER ID and send it to 9223166166 or 51969.
