Chandrababu Naidu hits out at Narendra Modi for ignoring State’s progress
Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu gave a call to people to throw the BJP and its ally YSRCP into Bay of Bengal in the 2019 elections
Anantapur: Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu gave a call to people to throw the BJP and its “ally” YSRCP into Bay of Bengal in the 2019 elections.
Naidu was addressing TDP’s Dharma Porata Sabha in Anantapur on Wednesday. He said that not only the BJP, but also the parties that have been directly or indirectly supporting it including YSRCP and Jana Sena must be defeated in the ensuing general elections.
Naidu said the YSRCP mortgaged the interests of AP before Prime Minister Modi only to protect its political interests. “YSRCP is a corrupt party. To come out of their cases, the YSRCP has been supporting BJP. It has mortgaged interests of AP before the NDA govt,” he said.
The Chief Minister pointed out that Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan had constituted a fact-finding committee to discuss on the assistance that needs to be provided by the Centre to AP. The committee found that Rs 75,000 crore should be given by the Centre to the State. But surprisingly, Pawan refused to speak on the Central assistance later, Naidu said and wondered why the Jana Sena chief was now targeting him.
He said that even though the Centre did not come forward to set up the Kadapa Steel Plant, the State government decided to construct it for the development of AP. The Central government is only collecting the taxes and ignoring development and welfare of the State, he blamed.
Modi is contemplating to come to the State without fulfilling the commitments. He questioned how he could enter into the State without fulfilling promises. He demanded that Modi must come to the State only after fulfilling the promises.
The BJP cheated the State in establishing educational institutions, petro chemical corridor, metro projects, capital city construction and others. They provided funds to Gujarat and other BJP ruling states, but not giving even a single rupee to AP and other southern States.
There are so many problems pertaining to AP Reorganisation Act, but they were not showing interest to solve them, he added. Naidu described the IT and ED raids on TDP MLAs, MPs as attacks on AP people. He alleged that Modi was misusing the Central investigative agencies against TDP leaders because of they have been demanding that the Centre should provide justice to Andhra Pradesh. He said no one history was spared after doing injustice to AP.
“Are we demanding genuine rights or not? All these are for the development of the State only,” he said. Naidu however exuded confidence that with the support of people of the State, he would be able to complete construction of the Polavaram Project despite lack of help from the Centre.
He pointed out that the Centre withdrew the money given to Anantapur district under backward grants funds. “Is it fair? The people must give a befitting lesson to the BJP,” the Chief Minster said.
Modi thought that if he would not give anything to the State then the development would not take place. There by the TDP would listen to their words. But the TDP refused to yield to their tactics and the State government ensured that there was no halt to the developmental and welfare programmes.
Chandrababu Naidu alleged that there was a conspiracy hatched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, T S Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy to pose hurdles to the development of AP. He said KCR was opposing AP development just like Modi, he said.
