Amaravati: Chief Minister released fourth White Paper on Agriculture and allied sectors at Undavalli on Wednesday.

While releasing the White Paper, he said that the growth of this sector will enable income levels of majority people in the society.

There were fathers suicides, crop holidays, migration, water scarcity, in put subsidy problems and many other challenges before 2017, he said. But now, this trend changed in this four and half years, he said.

Chandrababu Naidu explained that despite of repeated requests to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during elections campaign in 2014, he didn't not even utter a single word on farmers debt redemption.

At that time, TDP alone announced farmer loan waiver, despite of having alliance with BJP. After electing by people, the TDP government requested central government to extend financial assistance to state for farmers debt redemption scheme. But, Modi didn't support us, he added.

AP is the only state in India, which doubled the farmers income within four years.

Chandrababu Naidu said that they have spent more than Rs 87,000 crore on Agriculture sector, which is highest in the country when compared with any other state.

He said that the strategy of State Government worked out and hence all these achievements happened within short span of time, despite of low rainfall recorded.
