Electricity poles eat into road

Bhimavaram: Lack of coordination between electricity and R&B departments is causing inconvenience to people as electricity poles causing obstruction to movement of vehicles on Doosanapudi- Kamatalapalli road in Veeravasaram mandal of West Godavari district.

The situation prevailed for five years. In spite of notice given by the R&B for removal of electricity poles for laying road, the department of electricity ignored it simply.

As a result, the R&B officials laid the road by keeping the poles in the same place as there was no other option.

After laying the road, the electricity officials set up new poles beside the road. However, they have been delaying replace the power line and remove the old poles.

This has been causing much inconvenience for traffic. The people have been asking the authorities to take initiative and speed up removal of the poles on the road causing obstruction to the movement of vehicles.

They have been urging the authorities to hasten the process to ensure smooth flow of traffic and accident-free journey.
