Vijayawada: The strike by APSRTC employees seems to be inevitable from February 6 as the employees JAC is gearing up for the stir. Till Monday, there is no progress in reaching the consensus to resolve the stalemate.
The RTC employees under the banner of JAC decided to begin strike on February 6 if the State government failed to concede their demands, particularly the pay revision with 50 per cent hike. But, the APSRTC management agreed to give 20 per cent hike.
JAC convener P Damodar in statement said on Monday that the RTC management may invite for the talks on Tuesday as the last option to resolve the deadlock. After a series of meetings failed to yield results, the employees have decided to go on strike from February 6. On Monday, trade unions extended support to the RTC employees. The JAC organised a meeting at MBVK Bhavan in this regard.
