Anantapur: District collector Veera Pandian has called upon officials and polling staff to create awareness on the proper use of electronic voting machines (EVMs). He said that confidence should be created among voters on EVMs use in rural areas and in all divisions in every constituency.

The collector exhorted all eligible voters to cast their vote. He directed officials concerned to provide basic amenities in all polling booths by the end of February.

Already 80 per cent of polling booths had been covered, he stated. The Election Commission of India is committed to conduct elections in a peaceful and hassle-free environment.

Those having any grievances or complaints can call toll free number 1950 and register their complaint. Arrangements for hassle-free voting to all type of voters including physically challenged persons by arranging for ramps, railings and wheel chairs. Representatives of political parties and DRO Subba Reddy and joint collector Dilly Rao participated.
