Rayalaseema University student excels in sambo tourney, feted

Kurnool: Dr A Vara Prasad Rao, vice-chancellor (V-C) of Rayalaseema University (RU) and registrar Amarnath have appreciated the varsity student C Siva Narayana Babu here on Thursday, for securing third place in national-level Sambo championship tournament.
The tourney was conducted in Puducherry from February 9 to 12. Siva Narayana is a post graduate student (commerce) of the Rayalaseema University. Speaking on the occasion, V-C said that Rayalaseema varsity is giving importance to sports.
He appreciated students for showing interest in sports while pursuing education. Rao suggested to students to practice at least one sport with a determination. Practicing a sport keeps the person mentally sound and physically fit, he stated. Varsity principal Madhusudan and others present.
