Nellore: Two women were killed and 20 others sustained injuries when a tractor overturned at Mulumudi village in Nellore rural mandal on Monday. The deceased were identified as Aruna and Polamma. According to sources, agriculture labourers who had finished their work were proceeding to Mulumudi on a tractor.
When the vehicle reached Mulumudi, the driver lost control and it overturned. Two women died on the spot in the mishap and 20 others received minor injuries.
The injured were shifted to Nellore Teaching Hospital for treatment. The two bodies have been shifted to Nellore for post-mortem. Nellore rural police registered a case and began investigation. Passersby said that the incident took place due to the negligence of the tractor driver who was speaking over phone while driving.
