Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) vice-chancellor Prof MV Prasad Rao has said that National Service Scheme (NSS) is a good platform to serve society and an opportunity to the students to help the needy under various programmes.
Addressing NSS programme officers and volunteers of twin Godavari districts here on Friday, he advised the students to enrol themselves in NSS, which helps to inculcate the habit of serving the needy in society.
As future citizens of the country, the students should know about social service and also how to attend to the needy.
NSS is also important along with regular curriculum and asked the NSS programme coordinators to design good programme which helps society.
University NSS programme coordinator Dr BK Jayarani underlined the need of coordination among NSS programme officers in twin Godavari districts and put their efforts to inculcate the habit of serving the needy among the students.
Good result will come with unison, she said.
University registrar Prof S Teki and others were present.
