Prayer hall to come up at Dargah for 20K devotees
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said a prayer hall will be constructed at Bara Shaheed Dargah which can provide space for 20,000 members to offer prayers at a time
Nellore: Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana said a prayer hall will be constructed at Bara Shaheed Dargah which can provide space for 20,000 members to offer prayers at a time.
The Minister along with Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz oversaw the works being taken up at Dargah premises here on Saturday. He asked the contractors to speed up the works.
Narayana also discussed with Muslim leaders on Dargah premises on various issues and enquired about amenities.
“Bara Shaheed Dargah is famous for Roti Festival and many devotees irrespective of caste visit holy shrine during the festival every year.
Number of devotees visiting Roti Festival has increased from 4 lakh to 22 lakhs,” he stated and said that they are constructing permanent toilets and taking steps to maintain hygienic conditions on the Dargah premises and at Swarnala Tank.
He directed the NCC, contract agency, to complete the construction of prayer hall by end of April.
