Yamaha MT-09 features mileage on Indian roads Auto Expo 2016
Launched by India Yamaha Motors Pvt. Ltd and unveiled by actor and avid biker John Abraham, Yamaha MT-09 superbike has drawn a great deal of attention at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new MT-09 is now on sale at select Yamaha dealerships across India and is priced at INR 10,20,000, ex-showroom.
Delhi: India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. launched the Roadster Motard – Yamaha MT-09 at Auto Expo 2016.
Launched by India Yamaha Motors Pvt. Ltd and unveiled by actor and avid biker John Abraham, Yamaha MT-09 superbike has drawn a great deal of attention at the 2016 Auto Expo. The new MT-09 is now on sale at select Yamaha dealerships across India and is priced at INR 10,20,000, ex-showroom.
Yamaha MT-09 superbike is powered by a new 847cc liquid cooled, 4 stroke, in line, triple cylinder, fuel injected engine. The engine is capable of 115 PS power at 10,000 rpm and 87.5 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed constant mesh gearbox.
Yamaha MT-09 sits on a diamond type chassis. It receives an inverted telescopic form with 137mm travel and 25 degree caster angle along with a 103mm trail. It gets a 14-liter fuel tank, 298mm dual disc brakes in front and 245 single disc brake at the rear. Tubeless tyres are of size 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) in the front and 180/55ZR17M/C (73W) at the rear.
Being offered in colors of Race Blue and Matt Grey, new Yamaha MT-09 is aimed at seasoned riders. It is a sturdy and light bike weighing a total of 191 kgs. Ground clearance stands at 135 mm while seat height is at 815 mm. Mileage claimed is at 19 kmpl.
Yamaha MT-09 will be imported into the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) by India Yamaha Motor while it will compete with the likes of Triumph Street Triple, Kawasaki Z800 and Benelli TNT899.
