Record bookings for Mahindra KUV 100 mini SUV, 1.75 lakh enquiries so far

With over 21,000 bookings within a month time of its launch, the Mahindra KUV100 has gone off to a great start. Since its launch on January 16, Mahindra’s mini SUV/crossover has received over 1.75 lakh enquiries and more than 2.7 million visits on its website, says the company. Because of this, the waiting period for the car has gone up to 3 months on some regions. And to control the ever-increasing bookings, the company is planning to ramp up its production.

Launched in the price range of Rs 4.42 lakh – Rs 6.76 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mahindra KUV100 aims to attract buyers going for hatchbacks like Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Swift and other B-segment cars. Mahindra KUV 100 was also the home-grown automaker’s first vehicle to feature a petrol engine. The mini SUV comes with two new engines under the company’s all-new engine lineup – mFALCON. While the petrol engie, mFALCON G80, develops 82bhp and 115Nm, the mFALCON D75 is good for 77bhp and 190Nm.

The Mahindra KUV100 is the second M&M product based on a monocoque platform, the first was Mahindra XUV500. The company says that the vehicle’s light weight platform helps it offer great performance and high fuel efficiency. While the petrol version of the Mahindra KUV 100 returns an ARAI-certified mileage of 18.23kmpl, the diesel model is claimed to return an impressive 25.3kmpl.
