Apart from new alloys and brake callipers, the spy shots are expected to be hiding decals under the camouflage.Demand for SUVs in India is on the rise, and so are the number of car makers who are launching new SUVs. Today, in the price range of Mahindra Scorpio, there are rivals like Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, Ford EcoSport, which were not even on offer 5 years ago.
With so many new cars getting launched every year, it becomes difficult for prospective customers to keep track of what are his/her options in a certain segment in which he/she is in for buying a car.
This is where marketing team comes in. One part of their job is to promote existing line-up of cars so that buyers do consider their product while buying a car. Which is why manufacturers launch special editions or limited editions of their products. This not only gives marketing team a chance to pitch an old product once again, it also keeps buyers excited.
First launched in 2002, Mahindra Scorpio is one of the best selling SUV’s in the country. Mahindra thoroughly updated the Scorpio in September 2014, when they launched the new generation Scorpio in India. Since then, Mahindra has launched a lot of many cars, new XUV500, TUV300, Imperio, KUV100 to name a few.
In order to keep their head above the competition, it seems like Mahindra is getting ready launch a new special edition of the Scorpio, which was recently spotted on test. Clearly visible features on offer with 2016 Mahindra Scorpio special edition are new black alloys with red disc brake callipers in the front, silver cladding on the lower part of front, sides and rear, metallic silver door handles, roof rails in chrome finish, a more elongated floating roof, and new special edition Scorpio decals which are hiding under wraps. Expect updates on the inside too with new upholstery and floor mats with special edition logo.
Mahindra Scorpio sales have averaged at about 4,000 units monthly over the last few months. The launch of this new special edition will help Mahindra revive brand Scorpio in the segment which is currently abuzz with Hyundai Creta and upcoming Tata Hexa, Renault Duster facelift.
