The new Toyota Innova Crysta made its Indian premiere at the Auto Expo in February. End of production of the old Innova suggests that the new Iteration will start rolling off the assembly line shortly.
Based on the second gen IMV platform which employs an improved ladder frame chassis, the Innova Crysta has two new diesel engine options – 147 PS/367 Nm 2.4-litre and 2.8-litre – in the Indonesian market. We expect only the former to be introduced in India. Both 5-MT and 6-AT would be on offer.
In addition to significant increase in performance, the new Innova Crysta also offers a sportier exterior design, a much more premium interior and a whole host of new features. Even the standard variant is expected to come equipped with standard dual airbags and ABS with EBD.
The old Toyota Innova currently retails between INR 11.44 to 16.73 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Expect the much more improved Crysta to command a significant premium.
