Suzuki Hayabusa assembled in India 5 lakhs cheaper than rival Kawasaki ZX14R
The CKD assembly operation brought the price down by more than INR 2 lakhs.Suzuki India pleasantly surprised its Indian fans by announcing local assembly of the legendary Suzuki Hayabusa. Now, the widely acclaimed Busa is nearly INR 5 lakhs cheaper than its primary rival, the Kawasaki ZX14R.

The made-in-India Hayabusa has two additional items which are not seen on the models that are made in Japan, and both items are mandated by the Indian government. You guessed it right! We are talking about the saree guard and front license plate holder. While they do take away some of the Busa’s stunning road presence, the good news is, they are easily removable.
The saree guard is a two-part grille which is fastened to the chassis above and below the silencer. A Hayabusa rider is highly unlikely to have a sare-clad pillion rider, but hey, anything can happen in India! The second piece of add-on looks plain silly. The license plate holder arises from the front fork and forms a loop around the fender. Mounting the plate on it will further ruin the aesthetics and will create unwanted aerodynamic drag but then it’s compulsory to have your registration numbers promptly displayed on a plate at both ends of the vehicle.
The locally assembled Suzuki Hayabusa is priced at INR 13.57 lakhs (ex-showroom) which cheaper than the CBU model by more than INR 2 lakhs. The motorcycle’s 1,340 cc inline four-cylinder engine produces a whopping 200 PS.
