Spotted: 2017 Skoda Octavia facelift in China

The 3 year-old sedan receives only minor updates for the Chinese market. Some international reports say that other markets would receive a revamped front fascia.

The 3 year-old sedan receives only minor updates for the Chinese market. Some international reports say that other markets would receive a revamped front fascia.
The 2017 Octavia for China appears to be equipped with LED headlamps. Other noticeable changes on the front fascia include reprofiled bumper, chrome highlights for the grille and secondary air-intakes and a new fog light design.
In profile, the sedan receives new alloy wheels, sleek rub strips and chrome ornamentation on the front fenders. The rear fascia is spruced up with a chrome strip on the boot and a blacked-out section of the lower bumper. The interiors appear to be retained more or less untouched.
We don’t expect any noteworthy changes to the powertrain lineup either. For Europe, the updated Octavia is expected to have a new three-cylinder base petrol engine which is estimated to produce around 120 PS. The objective would be to offer at least 10% more fuel economy than the most fuel efficient four-cylinder unit in the current lineup.
We expect the 2017 Skoda Octavia for the global market to make its debut at one of the major auto shows in the coming months. Since the India-spec sedan is assembled out of CKD kits from Europe, we can expect it to be launched here a few months after its European debut.
