Making global debut at the 2016 Indonesia Motor Show earlier this year, the new 2016 Honda Brio facelift will soon be launched in India. Featuring updated exteriors and interiors, production has already begun at the company plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan.

It is from this plant that Honda Cars India has begun exports of updated Brio to markets abroad. The first export market to receive India-made Brio facelift is South Africa. Apart from the Brio facelift, S Africa has also launched India-made Amaze (Brio sedan) facelift.

In South Africa, the new Brio is priced from ZAR 144,300 (INR 6.23 lakh) for the base variant while the new Amaze is priced from ZAR 157,400 (INR 6.80 lakh). Engine options on offer remain same as before. Unlike India, South Africa does not get a diesel engine option. It only offers 1.2L iVTEC petrol mill generating 90 PS and 109 Nm via either a 5 speed manual gearbox or a 5 speed automatic gearbox.

Updates on board the new Brio and Amaze are similar. Exteriors of new Brio gets new lower bumper and front grille. Amaze also gets projector headlights and LED DRLs. On the inside, both cars receive a new dashboard which is very much like the new Honda City’s dash.

One of the top five car manufacturer in India, Honda is expected to launch the new Brio in India ahead of the Diwali festive season. They have already launched the updated Amaze. You can read our review of the updated Amaze here.
