Comparing overall length, width and height, Datsun Go is kind of the biggest, followed by Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid 1l. Same goes for wheelbase. When it comes to ground clearance, Maruti Alto K10 has shortest, 160 mm, while the others have 170 mm, except for Renault Kwid 1L, which has 180 mm. Checking out boot space, Alto is far behind the others with only 177 litres, while Eon, Tiago, Go manages to stay competitive at about 250 liters. Kwid 1l offers the most boot space at 300 liters.
Engine –
All five cars are powered by a 3 cylinder petrol engine. Renault Kwid 1 liter, Alto K10 and Eon Kappa are powered by 1.0 litre engines while Tata Tiago and Datsun Go gets bigger 1.2 litre mill. They all produce roughly 68 PS power, except for Tiago which delivers 85 PS. Torque output of Kwid 1l, Eon, Alto K10 ranges from 91 to 94 Nm, while that of Go stands at 104 Nm and that of Tiago at 114 Nm.
Alto K10 gets factory fitted CNG kit in LXi variant, in which mode the engine produces only 59 PS and 78 Nm.
Transmission –
All of them come with 5-speed manual transmission, Alto K10 gets additional variant for 5 speed Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) or Auto Gear Shift (AGS), which is the talk of the industry in small cars.
Mileage –
It is in this department that the new Maruti Alto K10 beats rivals, as it delivers mileage of 24.07 kmpl. Tiago delivers next best at 23.84 kmpl, followed by Kwid 1L, Go, and Eon at 23.01 kmpl, 20.63 kmpl and 20.3 kmpl.
Price (ex-showroom New Delhi) –
The Kwid 1L is launched is available only in top-end trim and has an attractive price of INR 3.83 lakhs for RMT and INR 3.95 lakhs for RMT (O) with driver airbags.
As of now, Datsun Go is the cheapest of them all, starting from INR 3.32 lakhs, followed by Tata Tiago at INR 3.34 lakhs, Alto K10 at 3.4 lakhs and Hyundai Eon at 4.47 lakhs.
