Tata Tigor – Features We Would Have Liked
Unfortunately, like the Tiago, the Tigor uses pull-type door locks, which look quite outdated in a car with an otherwise premium cabin. Tata said the door handle design couldn\'t accommodate integrated locking knobs. While that’s fair, a dedicated central locking button should have been provided.
The Tigor Builds On The Great Value Proposition That Is The Tiago. But There Are A Few Things That Would Make It Even More Attractive

True to Tata’s promise, the production-spec Tigor isn’t vastly different from the Kite5 concept car. Based on the Tiago, this compact sedan not only features bigger dimensions and different styling, but more features too.
We’ve given you the low-down on what the Tigor offers over the Tiago and how Tata’s third sub-4 metre sedan stacks up against its rivals. Now, we take a look at what is already a great package and explore the options that could have made it even better. Do let us know if you agree or disagree with us in the comments below.
Release Button On Boot
The Tigor has a healthy boot space of 419 litres, which makes it quite capable as a family car. Fun fact: that’s more boot space than the Zest or even the Hyundai Creta!
However, as highlighted in our first drive review, there is no button/release switch on the boot-lid itself. To open the boot, you either hit a button on the centre console or long-press the button on the key. Even the button in the cabin should have been placed elsewhere as it is located right next to the drive mode switch (see image) and can be hit accidentally while driving. Additionally, this button can only be used when the ignition is on.
LED DRLs
Not a feature that’s necessary, but one that would add some more novelty to the Tigor’s already great aesthetics. We sure hope they make it to the car’s accessory list, so customers can at least get them as an option.
Rear AC Vents
To be fair, the Tigor cabin isn’t massively larger than the Tiago's. But, there’s a good chance that chauffeur-driven owners will opt for the compact sedan. To that end, the addition of rear AC vents would have worked wonders for back-seat buyers.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
We’ve explained the benefits of these apps right here. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay absolutely spoil you for other connectivity options as they enable the use of your phone’s functions through the car’s infotainment system. Unlike the Tiago, the Tigor does get a touchscreen interface, which is why the addition of these very useful apps would come in handy for owners.
Central Locking Switch In Cabin
Unfortunately, like the Tiago, the Tigor uses pull-type door locks, which look quite outdated in a car with an otherwise premium cabin. Tata said the door handle design couldn't accommodate integrated locking knobs. While that’s fair, a dedicated central locking button should have been provided.
All said and done, though, none of these missing features/omissions are deal breakers. Just things that would have made the Tigor that much better a package.
