Hyderabad: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a private research university in Cambridge, has chosen Hyderabad for its next edition of MIT Global Startup Workshop (MIT-GSW).

The institute is organising a three-day workshop for startups from March 21-23 in partnership with the Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs of India (COWE), according to its president P Girija.

Christened as MIT-GSW, it is a premiere global training and networking event for young entrepreneurs, which is being organised since 1998 in various international cities.

“Every year, we host our conference in a different location. This year, we are proud to bring MIT GSW to Hyderabad, India,” it says. The workshop is expected to participate by armature entrepreneurs across 70 nations, the web-site explains.

The prospective participants can apply through 2016.mitgsw.org, the deadline: February 25, 2016. The Hyderabad workshop is being partnered with Catalyzer Startup accelerator, along with local T-Hub and IIIT-H.

Interestingly, the organisers have chosen India and Hyderabad as they found the landscape for industry is rapidly changing and availability of early and mid-stage capital is on raise, apart from IP laws are being revamped.

Besides, even the culture in India is changing towards accepting the risk taking nature and failures are being considered as 'just stepping stones to success’.
