New Delhi: Bicycle enthusiasts in Chennai can now enjoy an unparalleled first-hand experience of versatile cycling machines, with global cycling major Hero Cycles unveiling a series of six highly advanced mega showrooms under its flagship national chain of Hero Sprint Stores.
The largest among the new stores was today inaugurated by Mr. Pankaj M Munjal Chairman HMC, Hero Motors Company in the bustling IT hotspot of Velachery in South Chennai while five other stores of the chain were opened in the prime residential areas of Anna Nagar, Ashok Nagar, southern suburb of Navalur and the famous Marina Beach neighborhood of Triplicane.
“Cycling for fitness and recreational purpose is fast catching up among youth in India and new age buyers look for a completely different experience than the traditional cycle stores. For the young and active buyers of the day, cycles are much more than transport machines. They are essentially fitness tools. This is why the young cycling enthusiasts desire personalized guidance and first-hand experience of multiple bikes while selecting the right cycle for their needs. Hero Sprint Stores offer just that. These ultra-modern large format showrooms will offer a complete cycling experience to all kind of buyers from fitness enthusiasts to adventure sportsman and from kids to women,” said Mr. Pankaj M Munjal after inaugurating the store in Velachery.
An avid cycling enthusiast himself and advocate of cycling for healthier commute, Mr. Munjal also added that bicycling as a healthy and eco-friendly commute has in recent times found increasing resonance among the youth in Chennai as well as in all major cities which are facing the twin challenges of poor air quality and traffic congestions.
Local cycle retail major Just Buy Cycle (JBC) has joined hand with Hero Cycles as strategic partner in this expansion in the city.
Hero Sprint stores are flagship retail outlets from Hero Cycles, the world’s largest cycle manufacture, and focus on offering an entire gamut of experiences that a customer expects from a store visit. The store visits offer trial rides, expert advice from trained professionals as well as after-sales services. In line with its format nationally, the stores in Chennai boast of special zones for customers’ different profiles and requirements such as fitness, adventure, commute, performance, kids among several others.
Bicycling as a recreational activity that combines exercise, discipline, adventure and fun is a rapidly emerging popular lifestyle trend among both urban and semi-urban residents. The trend is evident from the fact that out of every four cycles being sold in India one is a performance or semi-performance bike.
Hero Cycles has been leading the cycling revolution in the country with the company heavily investing in popularizing cycling culture among youth. The global market leader has been consistently bringing innovative and lifestyle cycle models to expand its consumer base and capitalize on the demand for premium and semi-premium fitness bikes.
Among the latest blockbuster ranges from the company include its Sprint Pro range and Electric Pedal Assisted Bicycle range Lectro.
The addition of six stores in Chennai takes the total number of Hero Sprint Stores in Tamil Nadu to 18 and 250 nationally. In Tamil Nadu, the company has 5 stores in Coimbatore and one each in Krishnagiri, Rajaplayam, Theni, Vandavasi, and Tripattur.
